Foreword

SAE Students Club

Society of Automotive Engineers is a professional body with it’s headquarter at New-York (United States).Its Objective is to bring together all institutions, scholars & industries working in automobile field & give them a platform to exchange ideas, for the overall development in automobile field. SAE- India is professional body, which is a subset of SAE, & is having its headquarters at Chennai. Its operation is divided in 4 zones, with the western zone office located at ARAI, Pune. For involving the students, in their activities, they promote SAE collegiate chapter in various engineering colleges. Department of Mechanical Engineering, DYPIEMR formed SAE Students Representative Club under the Guidance of Dr. Sunil Dambhare and Mr. Sushil Gaikwad in year 2019.

Vision Mission and Objective

Objectives

To enhance the knowledge of members who are mobility practitioners in the institute.
To provide its members access to SAE International magazines and seminars and encourage members to participate in different SAE competitions like BAJA and SUPRA.
To develop report writing and presentation skills of the students.
To provide a forum for members to informally exchange views and ideas.
To develop interaction of members with external automotive world by organizing visits to renowned automotive sectors.
To provide an opportunity to the students to participate in Campus Recruitments at the events like BAJA.

Expected Outcomes:

Identify the need, functional requirement and apply Engineering knowledge to design vehicle components.
Select appropriate material and optimize the designs for low cost and high performance components.
Apply the environmental and sustainability approach at design stage to minimize the environmental impact.
Create simulation as per the test conditions using modern software to analyze the designs and present them to industry experts.
Manage the resources and value team work for their effective utilization to meet the event schedule.
Create and test All terrain / Formula 1 vehicle as per the need of the event meeting rule book / vehicle safety standards.
