Foreword/Preamble

CSI-DYPIEMR is the Student Chapter of Computer Society of India in Dr. D. Y. Patil Pratishthan's Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Engineering, Management, and Research. Computer Society of India is a body of computer professionals in India. It was started on 6 March 1965 by a few computer professionals and has now grown to be the national body representing computer professionals. It has 72 chapters across India, 511 student branches, and 100,000 members.

 

Objectives

  • To develop a good work culture among students, a culture where students from various technical backgrounds come together to teach, guide and collaborate with each other on various projects and grow together.
  • To organize conferences, conventions, lectures, projects and ensures that regular training and skill updating are organized for the future IT professionals.
  • To develop a competitive culture where the students polish technical and professional attributes, gain experience and learn new skills while upgrading the already present skillset.

 

Outcomes

Activities AY 2023-24

LinkedIn Creation Workshop was conducted on 25th August 2023 to craft a compelling and professional profile that stands out. detailed overview regarding optimization of summary, highlight key skills, and leverage the platform for networking and career growth.

An one week workshop on "Soft Skills" was conducted in association with CSI DYPIEMR Student Chapter for the students of Third Year Engineering from 09/08/2023 to 18/08/2023.

Guest Lecture on “AWS Discovery Day - Cloud Practitioner Essentials was organized by CSI DYPIEMR on 3rd August 2023, keeping in The fundamental-level course is intended for individuals who seek an overall understanding of the AWS Cloud, independent of specific technical roles.

  • Engineer’s Day Celebration -:

Flagship event for the day of Engineer’s Day where multiple informative as well as fun events were conducted like Who’s the engineer? - A fun quiz competition, Googlekar – One of its type competitions where the participants were given a chance to showcase their googling skills and Memetition – a meme making competition whose theme was Programming Humor.

  • Flutter Firebase Bootcamp -:

A bootcamp organized for the students where they got the opportunity to learn the basics of flutter and integration of flutter with Firebase. They got the opportunity to witness the simultaneous performance of authentication in Flutter using Firebase, CRUD (Create, Read, Update and Delete) operations and State Management (Provider package).

 

Small Summary of some of the Events Conducted  in the Year 2021-2022 :

  • CSI introductory Session -:

This event was organized to aid the students of Second Year Computer Engineering to help them quench their doubts regarding the club activities, career and studies. The motto of this activity was to boost the enthusiasm and determination of the students so as to make their efforts more valuable and fruitful by giving them information about club-based activities.

  • Git and Github Bootcamp -:

This event was organized to aid the members of CSI Club of DYPIEMR to understand the basics and help them quench their doubts regarding the Git and GitHub. The workshop was held with an intention to introduce the basics of Git and GitHub, and demonstrate various functionalities of the interface. The workshop featured live demonstration and hands-on practice, so that the participants could experience the proceedings in real-time.

  • Inno-web -:

This webinar was conducted to make students aware about the importance of innovation, requirements to survive in industries. Innovation driven prosperous and frontier technologies (e.g., AI, robotics, biotechnology, and nanotechnology) which could be used in transformative way for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Discussion on the skills required to survive in the business World or industries (Listening skills, communication skills) and how an ideal work environment should be like.

  • Cloud Computing Bootcamp -:

An extremely informative boot camp conducted on cloud computing with a live demo on AWS cloud. Participants were given tutelage from the very basics, taught the differences between categories of cloud computing, the examples with real time use cases

  • Revealing the dilemma -:

This event was organized to aid the students to test their lateral thinking skills and imagination. It was supposed to implement how one’s mind reacts when a dilemma is placed in front of them, especially when they are at a responsible post. Questions involved a situation where participants have to state the outcome which involves a dilemma. Questions the Ethics and approach of participants to deal with such scenarios at managerial posts. A poster was shown based on which participants had to imagine a story and describe it.

  • Web jam -:

Web Development competition named WEB-JAM was organized by Computer society of India Student Chapter DYPIEMR to give a chance to the students to showcase their web development skills and lucky ones got the opportunity to grab an internship for themselves and enhance their skill set along with their resume. Theme of this competition was to build a portfolio website.

  • Linux Bootcamp -:

CSI Student Chapter of DYPIEMR conducted a bootcamp on Linux at DYPIEMR AKURDI where the attendees were given hands-on experience on the Operating System from the very basics both in online and offline mode. The participants were taken from installation of the OS to networking aspects of Linux, they also performed live commands along with getting insights on the history and back-end working of the Operating System.

  • Placement Talks -:

The aim of this event was to deliver students the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and abilities, which will benefit them in their placement preparation. Participants got the opportunity to interact with industry professionals. They shared their invaluable experiences and insights. A question-and-answer session was also conducted in which the audience got to ask one on one questions regarding the placement experience.

  • DSA for Placement -:

An event that was designed to help to clear the technical as well as non - technical round and build the grip of the students on Data Structures that’ll automatically enhance their chance of getting selected in Multinational companies. It was completely free of cost and offered daily problems on Data Structures, aptitude questions, doubt solving, solution for challenges, weekly competitions.

  • Aptitude and Logic Development -:

This event was organised to aid the members of CSI club to develop and enhance their problem solving skills and logic development as well to enhance the ability of critical thinking.

  • Linux Bootcamp -:

This event was organized to aid the members of the CSI Club of DYPIEMR to understand the basics and help them quench their doubts regarding Linux. The workshop was held with the intention to introduce the basics of Linux and its shell commands, demonstrate various functionalities of the interface. The workshop featured a live demonstration and hands-on practice so that the participants could experience the proceedings in real-time.
