Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE)
The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is the leading National Professional non-profit making Society for the Technical Education System in our country with the motto of Career Development of Teachers and Personality Development of Students and overall development of our Technical Education System. Being the only national organisation of educators in the field of Engineering and Technology, ISTE effectively contributes in various missions of the Union Government. The strength of ISTE is the strong base it has in technical education institutions in the country. The major objective of the ISTE is to provide quality training programs to teachers and administrators of technical institutions to update their knowledge and skills in their fields of activity and to assist and contribute in the production and development of top quality professional engineers and technicians needed by the industry and other organizations.
In view of this Dr. D.Y. Patil Institute of Engineering , Management and Research Akurdi Pune started Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) chapter i.e. Faculty chapter and Student Chapter with the motto of Career Development of Teachers and Personality Development of Students and overall development of our Technical Education System. The major objective of the formation of ISTE Chapter at institute is to provide quality training programmes to teachers and to the students to update their knowledge and skills as per their respective technical domain.

Institute decided to get Institutional Membership of ISTE and form Faculty and Student chapter but to get Institutional Membership at least 25 Faculty members should have Life membership of ISTE. It’s very proud to mention that institute has over more than 90 life members of ISTE. Since the inception of this ISTE chapter we had conducted total 11 FDP/STTP’ under Faculty chapter. Considering all these technical activities we have applied for “ISTE Best Faculty Chapter award-2018”. So looking at its overall leadership and quantum of activities under ISTE Faculty chapter we have been awarded as “ISTE Best Faculty Chapter award-2018”amongst the chapter in MAHARASHTRA & GOA Section which was held during 47th ISTE National Annual Convention at “Saintgits College of Engineering, Kottayam (Kerala) on 29/01/2018.
